The JOBS Act
On April 5th, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (the JOBS Act), landmark legislation that makes significant changes to both the Securities Act of '33 and the Securities Exchange Act of '34. The bill's objective is to make it easier for companies to raise capital by easing the regulatory burdens, restrictions and costs presently associated with capital formation. Darren N. Streiler
PrincipalDarren Streiler joined Burrill & Company in 2011 and works as a Principal in the Merchant Banking Group serving the agricultural and industrial biotechnology sectors. Mr. Streiler has 13 years experience in the investment industry including over 9 years spent with fundamentally driven buy-side funds and three years on the sell-side. Most recently, Mr. Streiler was a Vice President with HighMark Capital Management, a division of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, where he managed the Energy, Industrials, and Materials sectors. Prior to this position, Mr. Streiler was an Analyst at SAC Capital Advisors where he co-managed a $100 Million healthcare hedge fund. Prior to SAC, he was an Analyst at Amerindo Investment Advisors. Mr. Streiler began his career in Equity Research at Citigroup.
Mr. Streiler received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Boston College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley (Haas).
