The JOBS Act
On April 5th, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (the JOBS Act), landmark legislation that makes significant changes to both the Securities Act of '33 and the Securities Exchange Act of '34. The bill's objective is to make it easier for companies to raise capital by easing the regulatory burdens, restrictions and costs presently associated with capital formation. John McLaughlin
Sales TraderJohn McLaughlin joined Burrill & Company in 2011 and works as a sales trader in the Merchant Banking Group. Mr. McLaughlin has more than 20 years of experience in both the domestic and international equity markets. He began his career at Cantor Fitzgerald in New York and then moved on to Furman Selz LLC, also in New York, where he became a senior vice president in the equity trading division. Mr McLaughlin worked at Bank of America securities in San Francisco until 2003. He spent the eight years prior to joining Burrill & Company at BTIG LLC in San Francisco as a senior vice president. There he developed a business servicing small- to medium-sized hedge funds. During his career, Mr. McLaughlin has traded a variety of products including equity options, futures, bonds and, currency transactions. He holds a B.A. in History from Boston College.
