The JOBS Act
On April 5th, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (the JOBS Act), landmark legislation that makes significant changes to both the Securities Act of '33 and the Securities Exchange Act of '34. The bill's objective is to make it easier for companies to raise capital by easing the regulatory burdens, restrictions and costs presently associated with capital formation. Jason Zhang
Equity Research AnalystMr. Zhang joined Burrill & Company as an Equity Research Analyst in the Company’s Merchant Banking Group in January 2012. Based on the East Coast, he covers the biotech/biopharmaceutical sector, in which he has extensive experience. Most recently, Mr. Zhang has been a research analyst covering the biotech/biopharmaceutical sector for BMO Capital Markets, Prudential Equity Group, Independent Research Group and Stephens, Inc. Mr. Zhang has earned many awards for his equity research and stock recommendations, including No. 3 Stock Picker in the Biotechnology Industry in the 2009 Financial Times StarMine Analyst Awards, No. 5 in Biotechnology in the 2009 Wall Street Journal Best On The Street stock analysts competition and No. 5 (139% return) in the 2007 Zacks Top Ten Analysts Survey (across all industries).
He received his Ph.D. in Cell, Molecular & Neurosciences/Botanic Sciences from the University of Hawaii, an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business, an MS from China Agricultural University and a BA from Huazhong (Central China) Agricultural University. He conducted research in the field of signal transduction as a postdoctoral fellow at Indiana University’s School of Medicine and Oncology and as a postdoctoral scientist at Eli Lilly & Company.
